Abstract From the Canadian patent

Diagnostic devices for chemical analyses consisting of a sensor array on an electrode module within a fluidic housing are disclosed. The module is a laminate of an insulator layer and a conductor layer. The housing includes a fluid reservoir in a sealed foil-lined cavity. The module has a centrally located sensing region a peripherally located contacting region and an intermediate heating region. In the sensing region the insulator layer has a number of apertures with a sensor membrane in each for contact with the sample and electrical contact with the conductor layer.
