Abstract From the Canadian patent

A gimbal ball includes a first gimbal, a second gimbal mounted within the first gimbal a third gimbal mounted within the second gimbal and a fourth gimbal mounted within the third gimbal and configured to provide a stage to which a payload component may be mounted. The first gimbal is configured to provide coarse adjustments to rotational orientation of the payload component about a yaw axis of the gimbal ball. The second gimbal is configured to provide coarse adjustments to rotational orientation of the payload component about a pitch axis of the gimbal ball.
