In an engine air cleaner, a suction opening (50) communicating with outside air and a discharge opening (16) communicating with an engine (E) are provided in an upper cover body (11) of a cleaner cover (10) a cleaner element unit (Ue) for cleaning the outside air sucked in via the suction opening (50) is housed within the upper cover body (11) and a skirt wall (11a) of the upper cover body (11) in the vicinity of the suction opening (50) extends further downward than the suction opening (50).
