Provided is a method for individualizing a trichome from an epidermis of a non- seed portion of a trichome-bearing plant the process comprising the step of contacting said plant with a device such that trichome is separated from said epidermis; wherein the device comprises an attrition mill comprising a slotted screen wherein the separated trichome is attritioned via the slotted screen during operation of the attrition mill.
