In one aspect of the present invention an improved process for the conversion of glucose to 1,3--propanediol is achieved by the use of an E. coli transformed with the Klebsiella pneumoniae dha regulon genes dhaR orfY, dhaT, orfX, orfW, dhaB1, dhaB2, dhaB3 and orfZ, all these genes arranged in the same genetic organization as found in wild type Klebsiella pneumoniae. Why it's free to use

  • Filed August 18, 2000 and granted September 27, 2016. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended August 18, 2020.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by August 18, 2022.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
