A ball launching apparatus comprises a ball propulsion mechanism for propelling a ball and a ball feed mechanism for intermittently feeding balls to the ball, propulsion mechanism. The ball feed mechanism comprises a wheel with a recess for, receiving a ball being fed to the ball propulsion mechanism. A method of feeding, balls to a ball propulsion mechanism is also provided.
