A digital broadcasting receiver and a method for processing a stream of a digital broadcasting receiver are provided. The receiver includes a demodulator for receiving and demodulating a transport stream comprising known data a supplementary data stream, and information regarding the known data a known data detector for detecting the known data from the transport stream using the information regarding the known data and an equalizer for equalizing the demodulated transport stream using the known data.
