The present invention overcomes many of the shortcomings inherent in previous containers for pack-aging potato chips corn based chips, cookies or the like. The improved implosion-resistant container of the present invention utilizes a collection of stress dissipating mecha-nisms (10) that counteract the forces causing thermo-plas-tic container deformation implosion and loss of seal in-tegrity.
