Abstract From the Canadian patent

A microwave-accelerated plasmonics method and systems in which microwave , heating is used to accelerate particles in plasmonics-based detection. In one implementation, low-power microwave energy is utilized in the synthesis of dextran-coated gold colloids and subsequent aggregation with the addition of Con A, thereby providing useful sensing aggregates that may be employed to exhibit plasmon changes in the presence of glucose. The methodology enables the achievement of increased sensitivity of a detection or imaging system adapted to detect or image a target in a sample by change in plasmonic resonance of particles in interaction with the target by introducing , microwaves to the …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed January 3, 2006 and granted January 8, 2013. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended January 3, 2026.
  • Certificates of supplementary protection extend only drug patents, and it isn't classified as one.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
