Abstract From the Canadian patent

The invention relates to the control and adaptation of transmit parameters for wireless communication between a , transmitter (TX) and at least one receiver (RX) to provide joint power and link adaptation. A basic idea of the invention is to col-lectively determine the transmit duration (T) and transmit power (P) of the transmitter based on minimization of a given objective function representative of total consumed energy on both the transmitting , side and the receiving side with respect to transmit dura-tion , and/or transmit power. In effect this means that link transmit parameters are determined based on the energy consumption on both the transmitting side and the receiving side. …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed February 8, 2006 and granted September 2, 2014. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended February 8, 2026.
  • Certificates of supplementary protection extend only drug patents, and it isn't classified as one.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
