Abstract From the Canadian patent

The invention concerns a polymer dispersion free of water and volatile organic solvent for preparing a lubricating composition for glass yarns and for finishing glass yarns and assembling said glass yarns in particular for grids and fabrics. The dispersion comprises the product of polymerization of a vinyl monomer in the presence of a free radical initiator in a reactive organic dispersion medium. The dispersion contains 20 to 70 wt. % of polymer in the form of substantially spherical fine particles of size less than 40 µm. It is stable in usual storage conditions.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed May 24, 2006 and granted July 8, 2014. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended May 24, 2026.
  • Certificates of supplementary protection extend only drug patents, and it isn't classified as one.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
