Abstract From the Canadian patent

Conducting polythiophene films are produced by the oxidation of bithiophene or terthiophene monomers using , phosphomolybdic acid wherein the reagents are first combined to form a metastable solution, the solution is then cast as a film and , polymerisation ultimately initiated by evaporation of the solvent The equivalent formation of polypyrrole via the oxidation of pyrrole using phosphomolybdic acid has been previously demonstrated but this approach , cannot be applied directly to thiophene which , has too high an oxidation potential Bithiophene and terthiophene have lower oxidation potentials, close to that of pyrrole This work suggests the previously demonstrated method is …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed May 29, 2006 and granted August 12, 2014. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended May 29, 2026.
  • Certificates of supplementary protection extend only drug patents, and it isn't classified as one.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
