Increased data communication capacity in a sector of a CDMA wireless system using a combination of code division multiplexing and time division multiplexing. Adjacent subsectors may transmit carrier signals having the same frequency and using the same Walsh codes. Codes separation between adjacent subsectors is provided by imposing a partial offset of the sector PN sequence.
