Abstract From the Canadian patent

Systems and methods are provided for copying a classical state of a first qubit to a , second qubit. The method involves: initializing the second qubit to an initial classical , state, in which the second qubit has a potential energy configuration comprising a first , potential well having a first potential minimum and a second potential well having a , second potential minimum, and the initial classical state is located in the first potential , well, adjusting the first potential minimum of the first potential well to a third , potential minimum that is higher than the second potential minimum of the second , potential well, and coupling the first qubit and the second qubit.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed April 26, 2006 and granted June 21, 2016. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended April 26, 2026.
  • Certificates of supplementary protection extend only drug patents, and it isn't classified as one.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
