Abstract From the Canadian patent

A building construction frame element (2) consists of a wooden core (4) provided with a thermal break formed of an insulating material (24,26) extending across the heat conductance path of the element (2) which may be in , the form of stud (116) for a wall or ceiling. A method for producing the frame element (2) is also disclosed.
