Abstract From the Canadian patent

The present invention is an improved flared cone fitting (300) of the type having a male portion and a female portion having a tube (101) an inverted , conical annulus (315) , a nut (302) and a joinder portion (310) . It is , improved by the joinder portion (310) including a back-side annular face (327) which may define a void (326) . The joinder portion (310) may also include an abutment (329) intended to contact a shoulder (323) of a fitting nut (302) and properly direct forces exerted on the nut (302) .
