Abstract From the Canadian patent

The present invention is directed to a precious metal recovery process in which basic ferric sulphates and/or jarosites are controlled by a number of mechanisms, including control of the oxidation reaction conditions in the first autoclave compartment, hot curing of the autoclave discharge slurry and/or contacting of the autoclave feed slurry with the hot cured discharge liquid. Through curing, reactive iron-containing precipitate such as basic , iron sulphate, is allowed to react with acid to form a dissolved ironcontaining species, such as ferric sulphate.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed December 12, 2005 and granted January 28, 2014. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended December 12, 2025.
  • Certificates of supplementary protection extend only drug patents, and it isn't classified as one.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
