Abstract From the Canadian patent

A rotary jetting tool including a possum-balanced rotor which is achieved , using a vented volume. Axial movement of the rotor relative to the housing caused by pressure imbalances acting on the rotor selectively uncovers or opens a vent that places the volume in fluid communication an ambient volume enabling the rotor to achieve a pressure balanced condition. A plurality of radial clearance seals between the rotor and the housing are used to provide hydrodynamic bearings to reduce friction between the rotor and housing. The diameters of the seals are manipulated to facilitate pressure balancing of the rotor. In one embodiment, the rotor includes a centrifugal brake configured to …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed December 29, 2005 and granted July 9, 2013. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended December 29, 2025.
  • Certificates of supplementary protection extend only drug patents, and it isn't classified as one.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
