Abstract From the Canadian patent

A knee brace (10) divided into anterior and posterior halves including a ventilated proximal and distal members (40 42). The brace (10) further , including at least one substantially inelastic cross strap (18 20) adjustable , in length and connected to the proximal and distal members (40 42). The cross , strap (18, 20) has first and second portions which intersect at an intersection point (21) located between the proximal and distal members (40 42) and posterior of the frontal plane of the brace. Tightening devices (22 23) are provided for incrementally applying tension to the cross strap (18 20), and buckle assemblies connect the cross strap (18 20) to the proximal , and distal members …
