Abstract From the Canadian patent

The invention relates to a system for detecting water in a sandwich structure for aircraft comprising: a microwave generator (2); at least two microwave emitters/sensors (3) mounted in the structure; a microwave detector (4) capable of detecting the microwaves after they have propagated in the structure and; a data processing unit associated with a library (5) containing at least one modeling of the empty structure (1). The invention also relates to methods for using this system as well as to an aircraft equipped with this system.
