The invention relates to a fire extinguisher device comprising a tank (2) which contains the extinguishing agent and means for generating a pressurised gas (30) such that the gas generated (16) can enter the tank (2) when the extinguishing agent (4) is to be discharged onto a fire area. According to the invention the device also comprises a refractory separation element (40) between the extinguishing agent (4) and the generated pressurizing gas (16) in order to prevent heat exchange therebetween and to optimise the discharge of the extinguishing agent (4).
