Abstract From the Canadian patent

A takraw is woven form takraw ball strips (10) of springy material having soft material pads (42) preferably mounted into recesses (30) in a strip face (28) the pads are, at least in part, bounded by strip face parts (32 34, 36) which , function to lend stifness to the strip and/or protect pad edges and/or assist in mounting pads onto the strips.
