Abstract From the Canadian patent

The invention relates to a thermostatic mixer comprising a device for the , dynamic regulation of the cold water flow which supplies the mixer. Thermostatic mixers suitable for control of a large flow do not function correctly when the flow required is much less than the maximum flow for which designed, such as occurs, for example, when a thermostatic mixer for supply of a system with several showers is required to supply a single shower. Under these conditions thermostatic mixers lose stability and begin to oscillate such that the water flow exiting said mixers suffers continuous changes to the ratio of the mixture of hot and cold water and hence suffers temperature variations …
