Abstract From the Canadian patent

In an elevator car which comprises a car-platform (1) with several platform-sections (2, 3, 4), a front and a back platform-section (3, 4) are arranged on a central platform-section (2). The platform-sections have fastening points (2.1, 3.1, 4.1) arranged in parallel vertical planes at which these platform-sections are joined to each other by means of fastening elements. As additional stiffening of the car-platform, rigid platform-edge sections (8) are fastened to the upper surfaces of all platform-sections.
