The invention relates to a method for recovering nylon from a nylon-containing material by contacting the nylon-containing material with an alkanolcontaining solvent at elevated temperature and at a pressure higher than the equilibrium pressure of the alkanol-containing solvent at the elevated temperature, thereby dissolving the nylon in the alkanol-containing solvent removing the alkanol-containing solvent containing dissolved nylon from any undissolved solids, and decreasing the temperature of the alkanol-containing solvent containing dissolved nylon to precipitate the dissolved nylon.

Why it's free to use
- Filed August 5, 2005 and granted March 26, 2013. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended August 5, 2025.
- Certificates of supplementary protection extend only drug patents, and it isn't classified as one.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
