The invention relates to a mechanism for a writing instrument said mechanism comprising a first tubular element (10) having a central axis and a first (12) and second wall (14) each wall comprising a first and second edge (16 18) defining a guide (20) which extends longitudinally according to a direction which is inclined in relation to a central axis between a first end and a second end (24). The inventive mechanism also comprises a second element (26) which is adapted in such a way as to slide along the first element (10) and comprises a lug (28) sliding in the guide (20).
