Abstract From the Canadian patent

A closed drainage system for irrigating colostomy bags wherein the bag (10) is irrigated and cleaned while in its operable position associated with the person eliminating messy removal and the possiblity of spillage odors and , spread of infectious disease.. More specifically a manifold (20) is mounted , within the colostomy bag (10) with an access (24) to a water pressure from outside. The manifold (20) provides a spray dispersion of fluid preferably , water, at the top of the bag (10) and then drips it down due to gravity through the bag and out the open bottom (30) preferably with the residue of , the bag being washed out by the water and passing into a toilet.
