Abstract From the Canadian patent

The invention relates to a method for producing a three-dimensional photonic crystal comprised of a material with a high refractive index. To this end a , photonic crystal is firstly provided which is comprised of a polymer and , empty interstitial lattice sites are provided through the surface thereof. A network made of filling material is formed by introducing this filling material into the interstitial lattice sites. After removing the polymer cavities result in the network formed from this filling material. The material with a high refractive index is introduced into these cavities whereby forming a structure therein that is made of the material with the high refractive index. …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed August 5, 2005 and granted May 21, 2013. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended August 5, 2025.
  • Certificates of supplementary protection extend only drug patents, and it isn't classified as one.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
