A method and system for converting two-dimensional artwork into threedimensional models. Data relating to an image is imported and segments of the image are chained into contiguous curves. The contiguous curves together may form loops. Subsets of closed loops are split and created where surfaces of the image are to be created. The closed loops are contoured to create contours. The geometries created are projected onto a surface as an image. Finally, the image is smoothed.

Why it's free to use
- Filed April 19, 2005 and granted July 8, 2014. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended April 19, 2025.
- Certificates of supplementary protection extend only drug patents, and it isn't classified as one.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
