Oscillation and other disturbance damping is provided for a system having a load driven by an electric motor. Damping is achieved using feedback in an active mode, where power is supplied in a normal operation mode of the electromagnetic actuator. A gear train or other mechanical advantage device is connected between the electromagnetic actuator output and a load to form an , electromagnetic actuator. Feedback is provided by measured force or torque transmitted between the actuator and load mass. In active damping a high pass , filter is used to receive feedback signals and filter out low frequency feedback. The motor coils of the motor are shorted such as by using a switch. , The …

Why it's free to use
- Filed December 10, 2004 and granted March 13, 2012. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended December 10, 2024.
- Certificates of supplementary protection extend only drug patents, and it isn't classified as one.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
