Abstract From the Canadian patent

A one-piece unitary compression clamp (10) for securing a pipe or tube on a fitting. The clamp (10) may include at least one inward deformation (14) that provides an interference fit between the clamp (10) and the pipe or tube. Consequently, the clamp (10) cannot fall off the pipe or tube before being permanently crimped, and the fitting is prevented from falling out of the tube. n a second embodiment, the clamp (100) includes an ear (102) for crimping the clamp (100) to the tube, and a tongue (104) within the clamp (100) and overlying the mouth (105) of the ear (102) to provide uniform compression around the entire tube.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed January 19, 2005 and granted March 19, 2013. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended January 19, 2025.
  • Certificates of supplementary protection extend only drug patents, and it isn't classified as one.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
