Abstract From the Canadian patent

The invention relates to a method for determining the colour perception of multi-layer dispersive materials or biological materials for layer thicknesses that are respectively selective, by the determination of the diffuse reflectance based on the respective intrinsic optical parameter using Monte Carlo simulations and taking into consideration the measurement geometries anisotropy and the dispersion phase function in order to correctly take into account the multiple internal dispersion of the material. The colour effect is calculated from the diffuse reflectance based on the various colour systems in accordance with different algorithms.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed January 14, 2005 and granted August 20, 2013. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended January 14, 2025.
  • Certificates of supplementary protection extend only drug patents, and it isn't classified as one.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
