Abstract From the Canadian patent

The present invention supposes a situation in which an Enhanced Uplink Dedicated transport Channel (EUDCH) is used in a Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA) system. In a user equipment (UE) when physical , channels for transmitting EUDCH data are transmitted in addition to existing physical channels, a Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR) of an uplink transport signal increases. The increase in PAPR depends upon Orthogonal Variable Spreading Factor (OVSF) codes allocated to the corresponding physical channels and in-phase/quadrature-phase (I/Q) channels. Therefore the present invention , proposes an apparatus and method for allocating optimum OVSF codes and I/Q channels to …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed February 14, 2005 and granted August 21, 2012. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended February 14, 2025.
  • Certificates of supplementary protection extend only drug patents, and it isn't classified as one.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
