Abstract From the Canadian patent

For an incremental redundancy (IR) transmission in a MIMO system a , transmitter processes (e.g. encodes partitions, interleaves, and modulates) a data packet based on a selected rate to obtain multiple data symbol blocks. The transmitter transmits one data symbol block at a time until a receiver correctly recovers the data packet or all blocks are transmitted. Whenever a data symbol block is received from the transmitter the receiver detects a , received symbol block to obtain a detected symbol block processes (e.g. demodulates, deinterleaves re-assembles, and decodes) all detected symbol blocks obtained for the data packet, and provides a decoded packet. If the decoded packet is in …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed September 9, 2004 and granted July 8, 2014. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended September 9, 2024.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by September 9, 2026.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
