Described are preferred extracellular matrix composites including a first extracellular matrix material (12) having a second extracellular matrix material (13) deposited thereon. The preferred materials are made by culturing cells in contact with an extracellular matrix graft material (10) in a fashion to cause the cells to biosynthesize and deposit extracellular matrix components on the material. The cells are then removed to provide the extracellular matrix composite material.

Why it's free to use
- Filed September 7, 2004 and granted October 9, 2012. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended September 7, 2024.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by September 7, 2026.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
