After transmitting a data burst (BURST) containing several data packages (IP) the transmission channel (.lambda.1) of the same end node (A) remains open for the transmission of other data packages (IPOF) "on the fly". The connection is interrupted when another end node (D) requires capacity for transmitting its data burst (BURST2).

Why it's free to use
- Filed August 10, 2004 and granted October 1, 2013. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended August 10, 2024.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by August 10, 2026.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
