Abstract From the Canadian patent

The invention concerns a new self-lubricating solid material; a fabrication process for such a material from a mixture of powders; the said mixture of powders; and mechanical parts made from this new material. The said mixture of powders includes a metal allow powder precursor of the matrix of the said material particles of a first solid lubricant, like CeF3 designed to be inserted into the said matrix without interacting with the said metal alloy and particles of a second solid lubricant like WS2 or MoS2, designed to react with a component of the said metal alloy when the powder is sintered to form a lubricating phase.
