The invention relates to a flushing device for a channel (12) especially surge flushing for a waste water channel with a flushing blade (3) that can be moved essentially perpendicular to the flow direction (20) of the liquid in the charnel. The movement occurs between a lowered position in which the flushing blade contacts an arc-shaped wall area of the channel wall (4) related to the channel cross section and a raised position in which the flushing blade releases at least one part of the channel cross section.
