Abstract From the Canadian patent

An activation device for mobile contacts of a hybrid circuit breaker allows the following timing diagram to be produced: command for opening the cut-off chamber (10) offsetting the opening of the vacuum tube (20) so as to allow contacts in the cut-off chamber to separate at minimal speed and synchronously with the separation of the contacts of the vacuum tube closing the vacuum tube (20) while maintaining the cut-off chamber in an open position. Moreover closing the cut-off chamber (10) does not call upon the contacts of the vacuum tube (20). The activation device is presented in several production modes and allows the vacuum tube to be spared when the circuit breaker is triggered or closed.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed October 24, 2005 and granted November 24, 2015. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended October 24, 2025.
  • Certificates of supplementary protection extend only drug patents, and it isn't classified as one.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
