There is provided a method for preparing a catalytic composition for effecting the catalytic oxidation of hydrogen sulfide in gas streams. The method comprises the steps of: a) preparing a mixture of a water soluble iron compound and a stabilizing agent in an aqueous system at a pH of less than , or equal to 2; b) adding a mixture of two chelating agents I and II wherein , both , chelating agents are amine chelating agents to the mixture obtained; c) adding sufficient aqueous amine chelating agent II to the mixture obtained to adjust the pH to 7 to 10; and d) heating the mixture obtained to obtain the desired concentration of chelated iron in the mixture.

Why it's free to use
- Filed November 4, 2005 and granted January 24, 2012. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended November 4, 2025.
- Certificates of supplementary protection extend only drug patents, and it isn't classified as one.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
