Abstract From the Canadian patent

The present invention provides a feedstock composition for increasing the efficiency of atomization in hydrocarbon processing that includes a water-inhydrocarbon oil emulsion including a non-ionic surfactant capable of stabilizing the emulsion and having a hydrophilic-lipophilic balance of greater than about 12. The emulsion includes water droplets of about 5 to about 10 microns in diameter, the droplets being dispersed substantially uniformly in the hydrocarbon oil phase. These surfactants are capable of stabilizing the water-in-hydrocarbon oil emulsion under relevant temperature and pressure conditions for hydrocarbon processing. The inventive feedstock composition provides a …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed April 20, 2004 and granted July 9, 2013. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended April 20, 2024.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by April 20, 2026.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
