A magnetic transducer (109) for measuring the flow of a fluid (108) has electrodes (102) and an alternating magnetic field (107) an electrode (102) , having lower noise energy at frequencies below 5Hz than an electrode comprising carbon or corrosion-resistant metal alloy. The noise characteristic of the electrode (102) at magnetic field frequencies around 1 Hz is lower than that of an electrode comprising carbon or corrosion-resistant metal alloy.

Why it's free to use
- Filed April 14, 2004 and granted December 18, 2012. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended April 14, 2024.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by April 14, 2026.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
