Methods of dehydrogenating hydrocarbons to yield unsaturated compounds are described. Reactor configurations useful for dehydrogenation are also described. , Hydrocarbons can be dehydrogenated for relatively long periods of time-onstream, in a reaction chamber having a dimension of 2 mm or less to produce H2 and an olefin. Techniques have been developed that reduce coke and allow stable relatively , long-term operation in small reactors.

Why it's free to use
- Filed April 6, 2004 and granted October 22, 2013. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended April 6, 2024.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by April 6, 2026.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
