Abstract From the Canadian patent

An apparatus (10) to load, transport, stack retrieve and feed bales of hay , can be run by a single operator. A vehicle frame (11) supports an operator cab (12) forward of a tiltable bed (14). A track (16) begins near the ground in front (15) of the cab and proceeds back toward to bed to above (17) the cab. Bales are picked up at the front of the cab and transported to above the cab along the track. Loaded bales are then released onto the bed which is inclined to meet the end of the track. Loaded bales are stacked on the ground by tilting the bed to a near vertical position and driving the apparatus away from the stack.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed March 1, 2004 and granted May 7, 2013. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended March 1, 2024.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by March 1, 2026.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
