Catalyst systems useful for olefin polymerization are disclosed. The catalysts include a bimetallic complex that incorporates two linked indenoindolyl groups, each of which is pibonded through its cyclopentadienyl ring to one of the metals. Compared with conventional indenoindolyl complexes the bimetallic , complexes of the invention have enhanced ability to give polyolefins with desirably low melt indices. Certain bimetallic indenoindolyl complexes also provide a way to broaden polymer molecular weight distribution and thereby improve processability simply by regulating the amounts of comonomer and activator used in the polymerization.

Why it's free to use
- Filed September 10, 2003. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended September 10, 2023.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by September 10, 2025.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
