Abstract From the Canadian patent

The migration of fluid substance and/or substance contained in the fluid substance is controlled by disposing a separation medium capable of restricting the migration of fluid substance and/or substance contained in the fluid substance in an intervenient space coupling a first space and a second space. Insertion of a connection medium in place of the separation medium enables initiation of the migration to the second space. Thus the migration , of substances can be easily controlled without resort to mechanical means. This method facilitates two-dimensional electrophoretic analysis on chips.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed October 28, 2003. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended October 28, 2023.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by October 28, 2025.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
