Abstract From the Canadian patent

Channel estimation and spatial processing for a TDD MIMO system. Calibration may be performed to account for differences in the responses of transmit/ receive chains at the access point and user terminal (512). During normal operation, a MIMO pilot is transmitted on a first link (522) and used to derive an estimate of the first link channel response (524) which is , decomposed to obtain a diagonal matrix of singular values and a first unitary matrix containing both left eigenvectors of the first link and right eigenvectors of a second link (526). A steered reference is transmitted on the second link using the eigenvectors in the first unitary matrix (530) and is , processed to obtain …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed October 24, 2003 and granted February 11, 2014. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended October 24, 2023.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by October 24, 2025.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
