Abstract From the Canadian patent

This invention provides a novel packaging system comprising a packaging frame (100) and one or more suspension membrane suspended from the frame (100) which membrane comprises a flexible membrane material that forms a pocket area (200) shaped to accept an item. The shape of the pocket area (200) allows the area to be self-sizing to accommodate irregularly shaped objects and a variety of sizes in the same package. The flexible pocket area (200) also minimizes pressure points on the packaged item and keeps the item from contacting other items or potentially damaging surfaces.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed August 14, 2003. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended August 14, 2023.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by August 14, 2025.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
