Abstract From the Canadian patent

The invention relates to novel materials based on biodegradable polyamino acids that are useful for vectorizing active principle/s (AP). The aim of the invention is to supply a new polymeric raw material that is used for vectorizing AP and optimally fulfills all requirements concerning biocompatibility biodegradability, the ability to be easily associated with numerous active principles or solubilize said active principles and to release the active principles in vivo. Said polymers can also be readily and economically transformed into particles vectorizing active principles according to the grafting rate of the hydrophobic groups said particles being able to form stable aqueous colloidal …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed July 23, 2003 and granted March 20, 2012. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended July 23, 2023.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by July 23, 2025.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
