A UE transmitter in a 3G UTRAN wireless communication system performs dynamic link adaptation (DLA) with dynamic semi-static parameters for overcoming RF propagation difficulties. Separate transport channels (DCH) are defined for each semi-static parameter, including forward error coding (FEC) coding type and rate (Step 201/202). When data rate is decreased during DLA a TFC is , selected having the desired FEC coding type and rate (Step 203/204/205). Since this adjustment occurs at each TTI, mapping of data packet codes in each time slot on the physical channel includes the benefit of FEC rather than reduced data rate alone. This permits improved SIR in a timeslot that may be …

Why it's free to use
- Filed July 14, 2003. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended July 14, 2023.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by July 14, 2025.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
